The purpose of this project is to investigate sexual behaviour and drug use in young people attending the Melbourne Big Day Out. We know from past research that young people in Australia are at increasing risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and HIV. The reason for the increase in risk is uncertain, but is likely to be associated with a combination of factors including unprotected sexual contact and use of alcohol and illicit drugs.
